Junior Extension Program
For aspiring dancers aged 10 - 13 years.
The Junior Extension Program is designed for young students who are passionate about dance and have the long-term goal to pursue a career in dance.
The purpose of the Program is to strengthen a foundation in ballet technique and artistry, improve dance skills through quality supervised practice, and develop effective learning strategies for the classroom and profession.
Specialised ballet classes are based on the Vaganova technique with an emphasis on building knowledge in theory lessons, developing basic coordination skills and fundamental technique in practical lessons, and nurturing artistry in repertoire studies.
Junior Extension Program students enjoy access to our Junior Masterclass Series with tailored repertoire coaching by our guest Masterclass teachers.
Extension Program
For aspiring dancers aged 13 - 16 years.
The Extension Program is designed for students who are aiming to enter full-time vocational training and have the long-term goal to pursue a career in dance.
The purpose of the Program is to offer quality lessons which build upon an existing foundation of ballet technique, to develop and improve knowledge and skills, and nurture effective learning strategies to help reach a student’s professional goals.
Specialised ballet classes are based on the Vaganova technique with an emphasis on acquiring knowledge with a deeper understanding in theory lessons, developing complex coordination and technique in practical lessons, and refining artistry in repertoire.
Other foci include developing professional mindsets and behaviours, musicality, strength and stamina, improvement of focus and learning skills, and many other skills/attributes required of dancers in the profession.
Extension Program students enjoy priority enrolment in our Masterclass Series including exclusive repertoire coaching by our guest Masterclass teachers.
The Classical Ballet Australia Extension Programs are designed for passionate ballet students who have the long-term goal to become a professional dancer. Students are aiming for future admission into a full-time vocational dance school, are interested in learning, and show dedication to the improvement of their dance skills.
Our Extension Programs provide the selected dancers with high-quality specialised classes, which runs in tandem with their regular timetable of weekly dance classes at their chosen dance school. The classes are targeted at an appropriate level to increase knowledge and improve skills in classical ballet, with the aim to help better prepare students for the demands of full-time vocational training.
Students will enjoy studying the Vaganova method under the tutelage of Rob Mills, with classes consisting of ballet technique, coaching, conditioning, repertoire, and theory lessons. Guest teachers will be invited throughout the year.
